The British set up a development office that helped in some small developments in the emirates. The seven sheikhs of the emirates then decided to form a council to coordinate matters between them and took over the development office. In 1952, they formed the Trucial States Council, [46] and appointed Adi Bitar , Dubai's Sheikh Rashid 's legal advisor, as Secretary General and Legal Advisor to the Council. The council was terminated once the United Arab Emirates was formed. [47] The tribal nature of society and the lack of definition of borders between emirates frequently led to disputes, settled either through mediation or, more rarely, force. The Trucial Oman Scouts was a small military force used by the British to keep the peace.

Abortions do harm women. Now what? Some believe that this is completely irrelevant to the argument. A woman should still have the power to make the choice that she thinks is best, shouldn’t she? In the medical profession we are taught that the patient has complete autonomy. According the medical dictionary autonomy is described as, “the quality of having the ability or tendency to function independently.” (Myers, 173). This means that we are to give them complete liberty to choose what they want pertaining to their own care. According to the American Nurses Association, “Patients have the moral and legal right to determine what will be done with their own person; to be given accurate, complete and understandable information in a manner that facilitates an informed judgment...” (8) This means that before a surgery or other treatment or prevention is given, the patient must be informed of the risks involved . They must be given all of the facts that are relevant to their situation in order that they might make an informed decision. Informing the patient of the risks involved in procedures is done before every operation. That is, every operation except one. Abortion is the only operation where the client is not given complete information. The only other exception is where the patient is unconscious and is in a life threatening situation. The physician can then make a decision based on what he believes the client would choose. Not informing the client about the risks of an abortion is wrong. If the medical professional were really trying to do what was best for the woman they would equip her to make an educated decision. In fact, by withholding the information about the risks and procedures they are not treating the women as autonomous, and are acting in opposition to the code ethics that nursing professionals must follow. Before an abortion is performed there should be an optional, or even mandatory, two hour seminar explaining the procedures, answering questions, and stating the risks involved in abortions. If nothing else, this will answer some of these women’s questions putting their minds more at ease.

Joseph Kechichian reinforces this saying, “[r]eligious power and authority continue to be exercised by the ulama in tandem with political figures who together derive a dose of legitimacy as a result of this cooperation.” [30] It is this form of Islam, historically linked to and constituted through its relationship with the power politics of the monarchy, through which the rights of women are interpreted. Thus, the relatively oppressive condition in which women live in Saudi Arabia is a product of this concomitant relationship between religion and politics/culture. However different the status of women in Saudi Arabia and Tunisia may be, the similarity is that, in both societies, women exist in a space constructed by the intersection of religion, politics, history and tradition.

The mid-1980s were the peak of anti-Arab hate crimes. In comparison, the Gulf crisis of 1991-1992 was relatively less lethal. Although there were many reports of assaults against Arab Americans, few incidents resulted in serious injuries and no one was killed. No Arab or Islamic community organizations were bombed, though many received threats and an incendiary device that apparently failed to explode was discovered at the American Muslim Council in San Diego. A few incidents during this period can be traced to the assassination in November 1990 of Rabbi Meir Kahane, the former leader of the Jewish Defense League. His murder triggered a rash of death threats and harassment against prominent Arab Americans.

the Bible does not promote any of that. the extermination order was given only regarding a particular group of irredeemably evil people who were into infant sacrifice and all kinds of perversion. If a man took a liking to a woman he had to take her into his house, give her a month before he approached her, and if he got no pleasure of her release her not sell her.
Shariah is worse than the Koran but is based on it. The defensive only was early suras, it is arranged in order of length of suras not time of them. The later ones were highly aggressive. It says that lawful to you are all that your right hand possesses, which would include captives. If such a girl wants to keep her chastity it says to let her do so, but if the guy doesn’t let her alone it says that “allah” is merciful and forgiving.
Augmenting the Koran are the hadiths, traditions of what mohammed said and did, which helped shariah develop. these included a lot of nasty things.
